The society's annual dinner was held in the back room of the Cricketers. As ever a very popular event. We may have to slightly reduce numbers in future years as it was a bit of a squash, though that didn't stop everyone enjoying themselves.
The Ockley Quiz. The "B" team did very well, but it was left to the "A" team to collect ODS's only prize of the evening (seems a shame to have to add it was a genuine wooden spoon for coming bottom!).
Visit to Reigate to see St Marks Players perform "A School House Murder". Cast included Lauren and our very own Annie Walker taking the lead role.
"Abba on the Green", Ockley Village Green, that is. Do it yourself picnic supper and bop 'til you drop!
Visit to 'The Playhouse', Walton on Thames to see Agatha Christie's thriller "The Hollow" in which Chris Scott had a part.
Annual BBQ. Report
AGM followed by a buffet at "The Cricketers Arms", Ockley, in their back room. Surprise of the evening was the Sylvie's unexpected resigination as chairman. Following his proposal Chris was bound, gagged and sat on while being unamimously elected to the vacant post. Seriously Chris, we know you'll do a grand job!
"Cheese & Wine" party at Yvonne & Bernard's. Report
Once again members of the society manned the "Human Fruit Machine" at the annual Flower Show.
Second annual Sausage Sizzle at Phil and Lyne's place. Many interesting varieties were on offer and a number of people took upon themselves an extensive programme of quality assurance (and still found room for the selection of puddings on offer!). A couple of games of "Who wants to be a Millionaire" were played later, demonstating yet again why the society rarely does well in the annual Ockley quiz.
