From time to time we get emails promoting something, asking for help or in some form or other offering some sort of opportunity that the writer would like us to convey to our membership. After some thought we've decided to publish these requests (or at least a selection of them) here on this page. Please note that the Webmaster and Committee accept no responsibility for the accuracy, or otherwise, of any of the following. Anyone responding to any 'opportunity' does so at their own risk.

Hi.
We're in currently in the early stages of making an exciting new show for Channel 4 and my role in the show involves looking for contestants (teams of two) for the programme. We're looking for people who like adventure, are prepared to take up a challenge, mental, physical and emotional and would like the chance of winning a spectacular prize. Not only that, the show promises to be a phenomenally enjoyable experience.
We think that this might be something the members of your dramatics society may be interested in so would it be possible for you to circulate a flyer which gives our details should anybody want to apply? Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you need any more info please give me a call on 020 8222 4200.
All the best.

Ottershaw Players announce open auditions for their "Christmas" production of
The Wind in the Willows
adapted by Alan Bennett
Perhaps you are feeling a little Ratty, maybe you have a Mole. I don’t want to Toady up to you or Badger you into coming but I know I’ll Weasel it out of you in the end... Oh please forgive my Rabbiting on...
The read through for the Wind in The Willows will take place on Monday 10th July at The Castle Pub in Ottershaw at 8:00 pm.
Auditions will take place on Tuesday 18th July in the Players' Hut from 8:00 pm and Sunday 23rd July at 7:00 pm at Brook Hall, Brox Road.
If possible I would like people to attend both if they can, especially if you are interested in one of the main characters. Scripts will be available for you borrow at the reading on the 10th so you will be able to make your mind up then.
Auditions on the Tuesday will be largely reading and on Sunday will also include a workshop session. If you can only make one of the audition dates I would suggest the Sunday will be the most important.
I would hope to have cast the play and given out scripts by the end of July with rehearsals starting late August / early September. I would hope that, principal characters especially, will have a good grip on their lines prior to the beginning of rehearsals.
The dates of the performance are 26th November – 2nd December.
Right, I’m off for tea now - that is if the kettle will make the water a little ‘Otter...
